Beyond the Ride

Spring Spur sits at the doorstep of Victoria's High Country — mountain villages, wineries, walking trails and wild rivers are all within easy reach. Here's our own guide to the region, built from decades of local knowledge and a few family favourites along the way.

Seasons at Spring Spur

Spring, Summer & AutumnPeak riding season — wildflower-strewn high plains in spring, long warm days for trail rides and packhorse treks through summer, and golden autumn colour through the valley towns. Ideal conditions for hiking, cycling and wine touring across the region.

WinterSnow settles across the high plains and Mount Beauty becomes the valley base for Falls Creek, a short drive up the mountain. Cosy fires, hearty meals and quieter trails make it a beautiful time to visit Spring Spur between snow days.
